UK Healthcare Executive Leadership Program- Healthcare leaders are facing serious challenges with balancing the demands of clinical medicine and financial business strategies. The increasing challenge of patient engagement and demands of meeting their personalized care means not only treating the disease but enhancing their health. But how do healthcare providers meet the heightened demands for patient personalization while also saving money and lives?

The curriculum includes such topics as: managing value chain, decision making, lean management, emotional intelligence, negotiations, leadership models, ethics, strategic management, business planning, strategic marketing, communications, information management, business finance, customer service, employee engagement, healthcare economics, conflict management and team development. Classes are led by multiple UK HealthCare and national professors/leaders. UK HealthCare will send out an email invitation announcing the next cohort. PROFESSIONAL MBA (For Leaders in Healthcare)-
The Professional MBA For Leaders in Healthcare provides the business knowledge to meet today's healthcare management challenges and is designed for current healthcare professionals such as physicians (including residents), nurses, pharmacists, professional administrators and academia. Healthcare professionals will engage from experienced professors and other industry leaders in healthcare-specific class sections, while still taking classes the core business classes with other working professionals from various industries such as engineering, law, agriculture, manufacturing, technology, banking and finance, and military. College of Public Health Graduate Certificate in Biostatistics
-The certificate requires 15 credit hours of course work and provides students in academic programs outside of the Department of Biostatistics with the opportunity to gain a background in the design and analysis of biomedical studies. Courses in the program will provide an introduction to methodological applications in public health and medical research, which are skills attractive to future employers. The College of Public Health offers graduate certificates in gerontology, global health, maternal and child health, and public health management.

National Leadership Development Programs

Association of American Medical Colleges
(AAMC) Early Career Women Faculty Development Seminar. Designed for women physicians and scientists holding medical school faculty appointments at the assistant professor level*, and considering leadership positions within their discipline, department, or institution, this comprehensive and engaging program provides an introduction to the knowledge and skills needed to pursue leadership roles within academic medicine.

Association of American Medical Colleges
(AAMC)-Mid-Career Women Faculty Professional Development Seminar. The program goal is to enhance knowledge and skills needed to support progress along the path to leadership in academic medicine. The seminar covers leadership topics including but not limited to: “The Art and Style of Interpersonal Communication”, “Managing from the Middle”, and “Financing the Academic Mission”.  Additionally, the seminar offers skills specifically related to the mid-career faculty member such as conflict management and negotiation, wellness, and strategic planning, which are central to effective collaboration and leadership in various mission-critical activities.

Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) -
Minority Faculty Career Development Seminar. The three-day seminar provides participants with real-world guidance and tools for pursuing career advancement in academic medicine, developing key professional competencies, building skills in grant writing and communication, and expanding their network of colleagues and role models. Program is typically held in September of each year.

Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) – Being A Resilient Leader.
Resiliency is the essential quality of leadership that propels and sustains our ability to succeed and lead in medicine and science. To be modeled effectively, resiliency, like leadership, must be learned and cultivated within our profession and our institutions. Being a Resilient Leader is an interactive two –day workshop that will help you build your own resiliency and teach you how to exercise leadership so you can achieve desired results. You are invited to join us and engage in personal reflection, action planning, and small group work to increase your day-to-day effectiveness and optimism.

(AAMC) The Healthcare Executive Diversity and Inclusion Certificate (HEDIC) is an intensive academic program of diversity education specifically designed to develop the competencies leaders need to drive diversity as a core component of excellence in health care. The curriculum combines distance-learning and in-residence study with a focus on applied skills that will assist students in successfully implementing a diversity project at their home institution. Upon completion of the program, students are required to present their project before the cohort and instructors, as well as at their institution. All participants are sponsored by their institutions. Projects to date have spanned a range of topics: institutional strategic planning; cultural competency training; faculty recruitment, retention, and development; medical student admissions and diversity programs; and resident recruitment programs. Are you ready to take the next step in your career or increase your leadership presence in your scientific or professional organization? The AAMC Leadership and Management Foundations for Academic Medicine and Science (formerly, Executive Development Seminar for Aspiring Leaders) will provide critical knowledge and skill-building experiences in core areas vital to leadership and management. This program is for Assistant and associate professors, program directors, division chiefs, and administrative leaders. (AAMC) The Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Certificate Program, an application-based certificate program, develops educational leaders in health professions education through evidence-based, collaborative learning, and reflective practice. The program will be delivered as a one-year, cohort-based, national leadership development certificate program. The program provides: Theory and evidence-based learning for interested professionals to develop and strengthen their educational leadership; A professional learning community for aspiring and emerging leaders to learn from, and with each other; Learning and reflective practice for enhancing one’s leadership style and practices; and, Facilitation of entry and progressive advancement into meaningful leadership roles. The program is targeted for early to mid-career professionals who are aspiring to or are already in leadership roles in health professions education.

(AAMC)- Transforming Conflict into Collaboration, Leaders in academic medicine and science face many pressures including limited resources, expectations for results and complex team dynamics. These challenges, combined with differences in ideas, perceptions, and priorities often create conflicts that are difficult to manage and resolve. During this introductory one-day workshop on conflict management, you will explore how to transform conflict into opportunities for collaboration and problem-solving. Through self-assessment, experiential exercises, and discussions with your peers, you will discover practical strategies for making difficult conversations more productive and for creating a respectful environment in which to resolve conflict. The program is targeted for all formal and informal leaders (faculty or staff) who have not had formal training in conflict management or who are interested in brushing up on their skills.

Offers a number of individual and group programs for junior to senior level executives on leadership skill development. They also provide personal coaching sessions.

ELAM_The Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine
® (ELAM®) program is a year-long part-time fellowship for women faculty in schools of medicine, dentistry and public health. The program is dedicated to developing the professional and personal skills required to lead and manage in today's complex health care environment, with special attention to the unique challenges facing women in leadership positions.

Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health-Health Care Executive Leadership Program-
The program provides skill building in the critical areas of leadership and management development. The curriculum is designed to develop conflict resolution, operational analysis, employee management, and quality management techniques necessary to achieve individual and organizational objectives.

Harvard Macy Program for Educators in Health Professions
- The goal of this Harvard Macy Institute Program is to provide a select group of participants with the knowledge base and skills to enhance their expertise in both conducting an educational project of their own design and taking a leadership role in the educational activities at their institutions.

Leading Innovations in Health Care & Education- The program curriculum is designed to assist you in developing your own strategies for leading change within a rapidly evolving health care delivery system. Using classic management studies and case studies of education reform, you will analyze the interlocking elements of change strategies and develop guiding principles drawn from organizational change, by professionals equipped with the tools and knowledge to lead and manage change in the care delivery system and educational environment.

Harvard Macy Program- A Systems Approach to Assessment in Health Professions Education-
The program's formal curriculum will address multiple aspects of academic assessment: learning and acquisition of competencies, teaching, education effort and scholarship, program efficacy and institutional alignment of resources and supports to further educational missions. Participant will leave the program prepared to develop and lead effective and comprehensive assessment efforts at their home institutions.

American Association of State Colleges and Universities Executive Leadership Academy
- The Executive Leadership Academy (ELA) provides a unique leadership development program for senior cabinet officers who are interested in becoming university presidents. The program, designed and developed by a search firm and two national presidential associations—the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI), the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) —offers a year-long program for senior cabinet officers from private and public sector colleges.

American Association of State Colleges and Universities-
Becoming a Provost Academy (BAPA). The AASCU Becoming a Provost Academy (BAPA) is a leadership program tailored to the distinctive needs of individuals aspiring to become provosts (chief academic officers) at AASCU institutions. The program provides detailed and specific training in the areas that are the most critical areas of responsibilities for provosts. The program also offers practical advice based on leadership research, provided by a teaching faculty of current sitting AASCU provosts, augmented by current AASCU presidents and other experts.

American Association of State Colleges and Universities- Millennium Leadership Initiative (MLI)
is a premier leadership development program that provides individuals traditionally underrepresented in the highest ranks of higher education the opportunity to develop skills, gain a philosophical overview and build the network needed to advance to the presidency.

American College of Physician Executives
- They offer four programs for any physician leader seeking an advanced degree. Physician leaders manage people and projects across a wide platform. Connect with the ultimate leadership skills through a single curriculum: the Meta-Leader Certificate. Two Harvard University professors with international experience in crisis management and leadership guide the program.

Levinson Institute- Leadership for Physician Executives
- Participants learn to read people and situations more accurately.  They become skilled at harnessing the intrinsic motivation and enthusiasm of their teams. They learn how to capture the frenetic energy released during organizational change and convert it into efficiency, productivity, and new opportunities. Many of the programs are offered in conjunction with the Harvard Macy Programs.
